Réal is a Bajan-American multidisciplinary artist with focuses in creative writing, filmmaking and photography. He holds an English BA with concentration in creative writing alongside minor concentrations in Media Production and African / African Diaspora Studies from the City University of New York. His writing primarily focuses on family and personal relationship dynamics alongside deciphering the environments that influence them. As a filmmaker he brings the inner worlds of his collaborators to the optical realm through an emotive synthesis of color, composition and lighting. Much like the fiction novels that’ve been a substantial influence throughout his life, Réal weaves dense imagery together to supplement his world building whether his tool of choice is a pen, light or lens.
